Short Trip Around Kayu Aro

Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart.-Washington Irving
View of mount Kerinci
What a amazing friday morning I had. just relax alone at home with a cup of tea in my hand and listening my favorite music. Suddenly, my friend came to my home with my Ducth friend. She just arrived in Kerinci and stay with my friend. They don't have plans yet, what should we go ? And come to my home to pick me up

Me : what's your plans today ?
Friend : we dunno yet. do you have plans today ?
Me : I have no idea
Friend : let's go Kayu aro ?
Me : that's good

After discuss about our plans, we decided to go around Kayu Aro ( Kayu aro is one of district in Kerinci ). We're going with 2 motorcycle. before going to Kayu aro, we stay for a while at my friend's homestay in Sungai batu gantih village. View arounds homestay is awesome. Surrounded by ricefields, plantation and rivers with cold clear water. Unfortunately, we just stay around 15 minutes there. Next, countinue to Kayu aro.

In Kayu aro, we went to waterfall in Pauh Tinggi village. It's the second time I have been there, the first time when I was in senior high school on the second class and it's been seven years (too looong ya.., :D) but glad to be back. The waterfall is near from local recident, we took only 15 minutes reach there passed plantation grown with coffee. this waterfall only 30m I guess but cool. We just stay around 20 minutes and unfortunately we didn't take many picture there, just some pictures. Because we would visit Tea factory as well.

After back from waterfall, we felt a lil bit tired and hungry and my friend said "let's go my sister's home and get lunch there". Arrived in friend sister's home, got lunch there and took a rest for a while before visit tea factory. But we change our plan to visit tea factory, because we're still a lil bit tired and decided to back home.

Oneday Trip to Lake gunung tujuh

Forests, Lakes, and rivers, clouds and winds, stars and flowers, stupendous glaciers and crystal snowflakes - every form of animate or inanimate existence, leaves its impress upon the soul of man.-Marty Rubin

Ahh Gunung Tujuh.., glad to be back here.
It's the third time I have been there. I have been posted before about trip to lake gunung tujuh, this's the second post. sure different person with different story. I come a long with my Russian friend. We just both went to gunung tujuh. I pick him up at my friend's village which host my Russian friend. We go there with my scooter. From village (it's called Sungai Batu Gantih village ) it's around 45 minutes to Pelompek village. But we took 1 hour because we stop to bought some snack n fried rice to eat in gunung 7.

We're arrived in Pelompek village n parking scooter. Then we started to hiking. Along the way to gunung tujuh, we are enjoy the view and chatting . it's took 3 hour, but We took around 3 hours a half, because we felt tired and get rest for some time. Actually He didn't feel too tired but I am . Yes I felt so tired :D i think more than ten time we got a rest haha he should carry me till the lake :p

This time hiking we didn't meet anyone to climb or back from gunung tujuh. I dunno why or maybe we go on Friday. The weather during hiking was cloudy. I'm a lilt bit afraid that it would be rain. But, luckly it's just goofy. Arrived there, we decided get lunch first, one of the best lunch surrounded by lushy green forest, fresh air and lake. That's what I always like spending my time in nature. Then we enjoyed view, took some pictures and just shared about a lot of topics with view of Lake gunung tujuh, make a joke and laughing together. Nothing is better spending time with friend in nature !.

In the left of lake, we looked some people with 2 tent camping there. We decided not to go to their place because we didn't have much time. Then my friend wanna swimming in the lake, he looked around searching a good spot for swim and I just sitting wait for him. After a while, he's back and told me that he didn't find a good spot so he wouldn't to swim. I think not because he didn't find a good spot, it's because he felt very cold for swim :p

then, we decided to back home. Along the way, the weather was rain a lil bit. But it's no problem for us to riding scooter. Because rainy is blessings !! but I felt a lil bit freeze brrrrzzz.., but that day it was fun !!

we found this animal, we called chocolate ball :D

Yoga in the Lake
Hello nice lake, we're coming !!
Ps : sorry the picture is less clear because we left our camera

Came as a stranger, leave as a Friend !!

I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let's face it, friends make life a lot more fun. ~ Charles R. Swindoll ~

Came as a stranger, leave as a Friend !! but I would like to change as a my Family, because He have been part of our family. He is the third of my couchsurfing guest since opened my account on 2015. can met him was the best thing and experience I’ve ever had. He is from Poland, he did five year journey around the world. here, story of his journey routeofdreams.comWhat a Great trip! Stay safe man…, he started his trip in Indonesia and work as a English teacher in one of language center in Surabaya, East Java. After four months work in Surabaya, he was traveling around Java and Sumatera.

After trip in java and then trip to Sumatera. He’s a special, because he’s the one of my guest from couchsurfing that I invited him to visit my hometown, usually traveler sent request for me. Ya I knew him from Couchsurfing, he posted about his trip that he is going travel around Java and Sumatra in Indonesia group, so I sent him messages trough CS I asked him, where will he go in Sumatera exactly ? he said, he didn’t know yet. so, I told him about my place and he’s very interesting to visit.

After a month he didn’t contact me yet, I think he has change his trip. Then, I got messages on cs from him that he would like to visit after his trip in Java and arrived in a week. I’m so excited about his arrived.
He arrived to my place in the morning on August 17th. during a week his stay in kerinci we had great time. It’s like I have a good friend who I have known him a long time. The first day, we went to visit my friend’s home (his name is Dedi) to discuss about plan to climb mount Kerinci, because Dedi is guide in Kerinci and also couchsurfer, you know what? It was the first time I met dedi, though we both stay in Kerinci. So close yet but so far haha

Well, back to topic ! after arrived in Dedi’s house and we talk about plan. Then, we go to hang out around villages, visit Hot spring, Bukit tengah, and enjoyed view of around my village.
The next day, Pawel and Dedi’s brother went to climb Mount Kerinci for two days. I am not following Pawel to climb because I’m not sure I’ll reach the top since it’s the highest volcano in Indonesia. But, I’ll climb mt.kerinci oneday for sure. ;)

After Pawel back from Mt.Kerinci, the next day we went to Kayu aro ( it’s one of district in Kerinci). We’re visit Tea plantation, Tea factory and enjoyed in Telun berasap waterfall. The day was closed Pawel help dedi’s family with cinnamon. What a amazing day we had!! We’are very happy.
The next day, Pawel went to dedi’s friend wedding in dedi village but I can’t along with them. He told me, he have a great time and wedding and he also wearing Kerinci costume. He felt amazing about that.

The last day .We went to Gunung Tujuh, here my post about Gunung Tujuh http://djourneyofdreams.blogspot.co.id/2016/04/v-behaviorurldefaultvmlo.htmlIn the evening after back from Gunung Tujuh, Pawel prepare to pack his stuff to leave Kerinci for Padang (West Sumatra) to run visa in Malaysia. But then, just like that wonderful song, it’s “time to say goodbye”. But I DON’T want to say it, I’d much rather to say hello. Hello to a new adventure. It was difficult when you left us. This’s how I hate farewell..I like this quota “How lucky I am to met someone, that makes saying goodbye so hard” have you guys ever cry when you said goodbye to someone who you know 3-4 days? Trust me, that’s amazing feeling. I try to hold my tears but tears flooding from my face. Hope to meet him again in another adventure. In Poland maybe?

PS : In fact, I have been written about this last year but I just posted in my blog ;)
